Biography 

Aldryth Ockenga, a Boston native, has studied art in several institutions of higher learning and earned a bachelors degree in art from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree from Massachusetts College of Art.

Her distinguished career has earned her many awards including the John Singleton Copley Award from the Copley Society of Art and the Margaret Fitzhugh Browne Memorial Award of the North Shore Art Association. She has earned the distinction of being a Copley Master in the Copley Society. Her talent has captured the attention of editors and authors as her work has been used for the cover of several publications. Articles about her work have been written in "American Artist" and "Victoria" magazines.

Canvas used for oil painting that is typically made of linen or cotton, stretched very tightly and tacked onto a wooden frame. Linen is considered far superior to the heavy cotton for a canvas.
